BS Psychology

BS Psychology, aligned with HEC’s academic structure, prepares students for practical and research-based careers in human behavior and mental health. Semester 1 typically includes foundational courses such as Introduction to Psychology, Biological Psychology, and Ethics in Psychology. In later semesters, students study Cognitive Psychology, Personality Theories, and Psychological Assessment. By year three, students engage in experimental research and clinical observation. In the final year, electives such as Child Psychology, Industrial-Organizational Psychology, and Psychotherapy are offered.

Graduates often work in hospitals, schools, research centers, NGOs, and private practice. Pakistan’s growing focus on mental health awareness and the launch of governmental initiatives like mental health helplines increase the demand for skilled psychologists. Students are also encouraged to pursue MS or Clinical Psychology certifications post-BS. This program nurtures critical thinking, empathy, data analysis, and therapeutic skills, making it highly valuable for society and individuals alike.
